How do I activate Duo on a new Phone when I have the same phone number?

If you have gotten a new phone using the same phone number, follow the below instructions to activate Duo.

NOTE:  Before beginning these steps, you must download the Duo Mobile app to your new phone

 

  1. Log in to any Single Sign On system (Example:  my.charlotte.eduninernet.charlotte.edu) using any device. 
  2. After entering your NinerNET username and password, a Duo push will be automatically sent
    • Your log in to an SSO system will trigger the Duo verification request needed to complete the activation process for Duo on your new phone:
       
  3. Click Need help? on the Check for Duo Push verification request that appears

  4. Click Activate Duo Mobile under the option I got a new phone

  5. Click Text me a link
    Click Text me a link
  6. You will see the following message on your computer - click Text me a new link if you did not receive the text
    Check your phone
  7. Tap the link in the text - a browser will open and prompt to open the Duo app - follow any on-screen prompts to finalize the Duo activation for your new phone
