Resetting Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft® Outlook

Body

  1. First delete the existing outlook profile. Follow the instructions on this article to do that. 
    • Note: In the article above in the last image you will notice the option to set "Always use this profile".  You may need to set that but only after you finish the next steps.
  2. Once the outlook profile is deleted, click the windows key again  and start typing Set up a Google Workspace Sync user, and hit enter.
  3. Enter your username@charlotte.edu email in the following screen. Do Not use an alias email address. Leave the remember me Checked. 

  4. Click Continue. The software should now open a web browser. If you are not already authenticated to Google in that browser it will ask you to log in.​ 

  5. ​​​​​Once logged in or if you were already authenticated in that browser. You may need to click continue or allow or click on your @charlotte.edu account to progress to the authorization page. Eventually it will take you to a list of items that you must authorize the Google Workspace Sync for Outlook to have access to so that the application will work.                                                                                                                                                                                

  6. Click Accept or Allow. 

  7. It should now go back to the app. If it does not you can manually select it in the taskbar. To keep things clean Please Select “Create Profile” 

  8. Click Start Microsoft Outlook. 

  9. When Outlook Starts, Uncheck the "Open this window..."  and close the sync window. 

  10. Next, go lower right of the taskbar and click the up arrow to show hidden icons. Right click on the Google Workspace Sync icon. Select Set mailbox size limit.  

  11. Select unlimited and Click ok. 

You may need to set outlook to always use the Google Workspace Sync profile

  1. Open Control Panel and click Mail.
  2. Change the settings of When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile, and select Always use this profile, and choose the profile you want to set as default. (The google workspace one!)
  3. Click Apply
