How do I activate my NinerNET account?


  1. Go to
  2. Click on Activate Account
    NinerNET - Activate Account
  3. Enter your NinerNET username and birth date
  4. Click Request Verification Code

  5. Select where you want to receive the verification code (text message, alternate email, both)
    NOTE:  If a cell phone number or alternate email address is not available or incorrect, contact the IT Service Desk, 704-687-5500
  6. Click Send Verification Code

  7. Enter the verification code received, click Verify Code

  8. After verification, you will be prompted to create your password
  9. Following the password requirements, type you password in the New Password and Confirm Password fields
  10. After a successful password reset, the NinerNET website will return to the login page and display the success notification at the top

  11. Click the Manage Account button and enter your username and the password you just created
  12. You will see the following message - click Get Started

  13. Click Duo Mobile
    Using the Duo Mobile app is recommended as the most convenient and secure authentication method

  14. Enter the phone number of your mobile phone and click Continue

  15. Click Yes, it's correct to confirm your number

  16. Click Send me a passcode
    Send a passcode
  17. Enter the passcode sent to your phone into the verification field and click Verify

  18. After verification, you will be prompted to download the Duo Mobile app - download the Duo Mobile app from the App Store or Google Play, then click Next

  19. Once downloaded, tap the Use QR code to scan the code you are presented

  20. Once successful, click Continue

  21. On the next screen, click Skip for now

    NEW GRADUATE STUDENTS will need to submit their intent to enroll using their Application Portal
